SensePlayer – Failure to install MTP driver to gain file access in Windows
Problem
When connecting the SensePlayer to a Windows machine the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) driver fails to install resulting in the SensePlayer not being available in Windows Explorer to access its storage.

Resolution
The SensePlayer requires the installation in Windows of the Media Transfer Protocol driver you can try each method to make sure it installs properly.
Method 1 - Install via wdmtp.inf file
Using a mouse
- Open file explorer and go to c:\windows\INF folder and locate file: wpdmtp.inf
- Right click and select Show More Options > Install.
- Authenticate at the Windows UAC when prompted.
- Then restart the computer.
Using the keyboard
- Press Windows+R and then enter the path below and press ENTER:
c:\windows\INF - Use first letter navigation to locate the file: wpdmtp.inf
- Press SHIFT+F10 then use arrow keys to select Install and press ENTER.
- Respond to Windows UAC by choosing Yes button when prompted.
- Then restart the computer.
Method 2 - Install via Device Manager
Using a mouse
- Right click Start and then choose Device Manager.
- Lofate the MTP entry under Portable Devices or Other Devices branch.
- Right click and choose Update Driver.
- Then click Browse My Computer For Driver Software.
- Then click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
- Then click MTP USB Device in the list.
- Then follow the prompts to install.
- Then restart Windows.
Using the keyboard
- Press Windows+X and use arrow keys to select Device Manager then press ENTER.
- In Device Manager press TAB once and move down to either Portable Devices or Other Devices device branch.
- Press SHIFT+F10 and choose Update Driver.
- When prompted select Browse My Computer For Driver Software.
- Then select Let Me Pick From A List Of Device Driver On My Computer.
- Then select MTP USB Device in the list.
- Follow the prompts to install.
- Then restart Windows.
