ZoomText/Fusion - BSOD while using Microsoft Powerpoint

Problem:

When using ZoomText or Fusion in Microsoft Powerpoint application you get a Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) error.

Resolution:

Where the graphic chipsets below are in use we advise updating the drivers from the manufacture or system builder's website.  Where the cihpset used is not listed updating drivers in the same manner may well work also.


  1. Intel (R) UHD Graphics 620 or 630
  2. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
  3. Intel (R) HD 4600


  1. Open Device Manager by pressing the Windows key, typing “device manager”, then pressing ENTER.
  2. Navigate to display adapters in the tree view and expand it.
  3. Navigate to the adapter used for PowerPoint and press ENTER to open the Properties dialog box.
  4. Navigate to the Driver tab.
  5. Note the driver date shown, then choose the Update Driver button.
  6. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
  7. The updated driver is downloaded and installed, which takes several minutes. When done, the Close button becomes available.
  8. Press ENTER to return to the Properties dialog box. The driver date has been updated.
  9. Close the dialog box, then close Device Manager.

If the problem still persists make this change in Microsoft Powerpoint.

  1. In PowerPoint, navigate to File > Options > Advanced.
  2. In the Display section, check Disable hardware graphics acceleration.
  3. Select OK.
