ZoomText/Fusion - Magnification shows during screen share in Teams
Problem
A ZoomText/Fusion encounters a problem whilst sharing their screen other participants see their ZoomText screen enhancements rather than the unmodified screen.

Resolution
- This problem may be caused by switch ZoomText display adaptor setting to magnification API. This may have been done to improve ZoomText performance or another ZoomText issue.
- From ZoomText/Fusion 2026.2602.13 a new option has been added to the Change Display Adaptor Settings App to allow magnification API to pass through an unmodified display.
Using the mouse
- Click on the ZoomText/Fusion taskbar button to open the main window.
- Then click ZoomText/Fusion menu > Help > Advanced > Change Display Adapror Settings.
- Then click to select the option: Magnification API (non-magnified screen capture).
- Then click OK button.
- When prompted whether to restart ZoomText or Fusion click the Yes button to restart with the new setting.
- Test if the new setting has resolved the problem.
Using a keyboard
- Press CONTROL+CAPSLOCK+U to open the ZoomText/Fusion main window.
- Then press ALT followed by F to open the Fusion menu.
- Press DOWN ARROW to Help then press ENTER.
- In the sub menu select Advanced and press ENTER.
- Then select Change Display Adaptor Settings then press ENTER.
- Press UP/DOWN ARROW keys to select the option: Magnification API (non-magnified screen capture).
- Then press TAB to reach OK button then press SPACEBAR.
- When prompted to restart press TAB to select Yes then press SPACEBAR to have it restart with the new setting..
- Then test to see if the new setting has resolved the problem.
For IT staff
Use these steps if you need to carry out these steps without ZoomText or Fusion runnig:
- Click Start button then search Utilities and in the results open Utilities - ZoomText or Utilities - Fusion.
- Then double click Change Display Adaptor Settings, the display settings app will run.
- Then click to select the option: Magnification API (non-magnified screen capture).
- Then click OK button.
- Restart the system for settings to take effect.
Tip
Customers who intend for their ZoomText magnification and screen modifications to be viewable by fellow Teams call participants shoudl select the Magnification API option instead.
