Canon – Join Wi-Fi network with TS-5100 series printers.
Problem
A customer needs to connect their Canon TS-5100 series printer to available Wi-Fi network.
Applies to
- TS-5151 and other 5100 series printers
- May apply to other similar generation Canon printers
Resolution
If the network name and password are known please use the steps below.
Note:
These steps will not work with student W-Fi in halls o residence. In some cases providing the MAC address of the printer may allow it onto the network os using a USB cable instead may work.
- Turn on the printer and waiting for any printer activity
to stop.
- Press Home button.
- Use arrow keys to select Wi-Fi and press OK.
- Select LAN Settings then OK.
- Select Wireless LAN then OK.
- Select Wireless LAN Setup then OK.
- Select Manual Connect if you know the SSID and the
network password.
- Select the network name of the wireless router to connect
with.
- When prompted for a network key select input area and
press OK.
- When the on screen keyboard shows enter network password then press OK. The printer will then attempt to connect to
the wireless network.
If printing from an Android mobile device you are not
ready to download and setup the Canon print app.
