Texthelp - Change the reading voice in Read&Write (Mac OS)

Problem

You wish to change the reading voice used in Read & Write.

Applies to

  1. TextHelp Read & Write (Windows)

Resolution

Read&Write is supplied with a number of voices you can use for reading back text. The instructions assume that the desired reading voice is already installed. 


  1. With Read&Write open click the icon in the menu bar, then select Preferences. If you are using the toolbar you can click the settings cog wheel toolbar button as well.
  2. Then click Speech in the left hand category list.
  3. Then click the Edit Voices button.
  4. Click the Voice drop down and select the desired speaker.
  5. Click Play button to audition the select voice.
  6. Make any additional changes to voice rate (sped) or voice pitch as required.  
  7. When done click the back button and then close the window.
