Changing folder view settings to reveal hidden/system/protected operating system files

You need to reveal hidden/system/protected operating system files to fix an issue.

Resolution:

Please make the following changes to view all system files.

  1. Open any Explorer window and click on the “View” ribbon.
  2. Then choose “options” and then “change folder and search options”.
  3. Then click the “View” tab in the dialogue.
  4. Make the following changes:
    On Hidden files and folders select “show hidden files folders and drives on – On”
    Uncheck “Hide extensions for known file types”.
    Uncheck “Hide protected operating system files”
  5. Then click “OK” button to confirm.
