Duxbury – JAWS slow to announce page numbers

Problem

When you create a multi-page document using DBT version 14.1 and JAWS you encounter a problem where JAWS has a very noticeable lag speaking the document page number when you cursor through a page boundary.

Resolution

  1. Open the global menu, then choose internationalization.
  2. Then TAB through the dialogue to the checkbox "support braille for screen readers using UI Automation" and press SPACEBAR to uncheck this box.
  3. Then TAB to OK button and press SPACEBAR to confirm the change.
