JAWS – Problems reading with Duxbury DBT

Problem

A JAWS user encounters a problem whilst using Duxbury Braille Translator with responsiveness or lack of feedback from DbT software.

Resolution

Please make the change outlined in the steps below to resolve the problems with responsiveness or lack of speech feedback with Duxbury Braille Translator:

  1. Press ALT+G to open the Global menu, then press DOWN ARROW to choose Internationalisation and press ENTER.
  2. In the Internationalisation dialogue Press TAB to reach the option “Support Braille to Screen Readers using UI Automation.” And press SPACEBAR to uncheck this option.
  3. Then TAB through to OK and press ENTER.
