Hable – The @ sign and # sign do not print the corresponding sign
Problem
When an IOS device user tries to Braille into an IOS device such as iPhone or iPad from Hable One they encounter a probem where entering the @ symbol results in a hash sign. Entering # symbol results in an @ sign being printed instead.

Resolution
This problem may be related to the differences between English UK and English US keyboard layouts. Therefore it may be necessary to check you are on the correct layout English UK and remove the English US keyboard.
- Open Settings > General > Keyboard.
- Then use the swipe right gesture to locate installed keyboards. In most circumstances within the UK you should be using English (UK) and not English (US).
- To add an English UK keyboard swipe down to Add A New Keyboard, then double tap to proceed.
- On the next scree swipe right to navigate to the search editg box then double tap.
- Enter the word ‘ English’ and swipe right to navigate down to to English UK then double tap to add it.
- Then choose the Keyboards at the top of the screen to go back to the main keyboards page.
- Swipe right to reach Edit link then double tap.
- Then sweep right to navigate to the keyboard you no longer require, then double tap to remove it.
- a Delete button will then pop up, swiipe to Delete button and double tap this to permanently remove the keyboard.
