U2 - Install the sense dictionary

Problem

You need to install the Sense Dictionary for BrailleSense notetakers.


Applies to

  1. HIMS U2 series notetakers

Resolution

The Sense Dictionary is a softwae add-on product that provides the services of an online dictionary to the user.  Please use the instructions and links to install Sense Dictionary onto a HIMS U2 notetaker.

Note:
U2 notetakers must have firmware 8.20 150204 or above.


  1. Sense Dictionary - UK English (includes Thesaurus)
  2. Sense Dictionary - Arabic
  3. Sense Dictionary - Italian
  4. Sense Dictionary - Spanish

Installation steps

  1. Extract the above zip file.
  2. Inside the zip folder is a folder called "HanDictionary".
  3. If you are using multiple dictionaries (for foreign languages etc), combine all of the files in to 1 HanDictionary folder.
  4. You will be required to input a license key for the software.  This may be contained in a ZIP file called "SenseDicAuth.key".
  5. Please extract the file and copy this into the the "HanDictionary" folder where the Sense Dictionary is installed.
  6. Then, copy the HanDictionary folder to the root of your U2's flashdisk.
  7. You can open the Dictionary using Backspace-enter-D.
