JAWS - 40 minute demo message is posted when JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion starts
Problem
When started JAWS/Zoomtext/Fusion immediately posts a message notifying the user the 40 minute demo timer has expired.
Detail
JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion must have authorisation to run as full product otherwise they will run in 40 minute mode if authorisation is not present or not sufficient for the version being run.
Explanation
If the 40 minute timer expires on a Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 system it may not be reset after restarting the system as it did on Windows 7.0 and below. This is due to new hybred boot technology used in Windows 8.1 and above which do not reset the timer upon reboot. This can happen for all Authorisation types ILM, Dongle or Network where authorisation is absent or insufficient.
Resolution
This problem can be resolved by disabling Fast Start-up using the steps below.

- Then click Choose What The Power Button does then click Show Settings That Are Not Currrently Available.
- Then uncheck the Turn On Fast Start-up checkbox.
- Then click Save Changes button.
This will allow the 40 minute demo timer to reset between successive boots.
