Please find below informtion about using the ChatGPT app in Windows.

General description

  1. Open AI provide an installable Windows app for user convenience to make queries.  JAWS does not directly support the application but the default scripts do a good job of supporting the app so it can be used.
  2. The ChatGPT main window by default has two main areas; on the lft a history of previous sessions, and the main area on the right that normally shows the chat conversation.
  3. When first opened the focus will be placed on the input box for asking questions; answers when given will show above this input field.
  4. The user may press TAB key to move through the interface but may also use letter H for headings to speed up navigation.

Entering a simple text query

  1. At the prompt edit box enter your prompt question, press ENTER to submit.
  2. Press letter H repeatedly to move to heading level 6 ChatGPT said, then press down arrow to read the response.
  3. One may also use the tab key to navigate to action buttons below the response such as Copy button, to take action on a given response.

Entering a query about a file

  1. At the prompt edit box enter your text query, then press TAB to reach the button "Add Files and more" and press SPACEBAR to access the loist.
  2. Then with UP/DOWN ARROW keys select the type of file to add, you may need to browse the file system to locate the resource you wish to submit with your query.
  3. When returning to the main window press TAB to reach the Send Prompt button, then press SPACEBAR.
