JAWS – What to do if an application used at work does not speak well

Problem

A customer using JAWS or Fusion may find that a certain line of business application they have to use at work does not speak well out of the box.

Detail

Windows has a very rich variety of application used particularly in business, they are not always even today developed with accessibility in mind.  Even where applications are accessible and read with JAWS there may be tasks which would benefit from JAWS scripting to make them more efficient.

Resolution

  1. JAWS has a built in development environment that can allow scripting of JAWS to make applications that do not speak well out of the box  more accessible or easier and more efficient to use.
  2. Sight & Sound can provide access to a JAWS scripting service and even provide training for the end user after completion of scripting.  Please contact our Technical Support team by calling 01604 798 070 or email support@sightandsound.co.uk for further details.
