Microsoft – Obtain the Microsoft Teams full version number

Problem

A Microsoft Teams user encounters problems using the application and has been asked by technical support to provide version information related to the application.

Resolution

Please use the method thst works best for you to gather the required information.

Using a mouse

  1. Open Teams as normal
  2. Then click the three dots ellipsis button and choose Settings.
  3. Then click About Teams on the list hand list, on the right you should see the full Microsoft Teams version.
  4. Please email Technical Support at Sight & Sound Technology with this information together with your query to support@sightandsound.co.uk or reply to an existing ticket email.


Idea
Tip
You can highlight the version number using a mouse, then press CONTROL+C to copy the full version number and then paste this into an email reply in the support ticket.

Using the keyboard

  1. Open Teams window as normal.
  2. Press TAB to reach the three dot menu and press SPACEBAR.
  3. press down arrow to Settings then press ENTER.
  4. Then navigate down the left hand category list until you reach About Teams then press SPACEBAR.
  5. JAWS should then read out the information displayed.
  6. Press JAWSKey+SPACEBAR followed by H to open speech history.
  7. Use the UP/DOWN ARROW keys to locate the version information spoken by JAWS, then press SHIFTt+ARROW keys to highlight the relevant information, then press CONTROL+C to copy to clipboard.
  8. Open a reply to our ticket email or a blank document.
  9. Then press CONTROL+V to paste in the version information captured earlier and send to Sight & Sound Technical Support.
