JAWS - Reset Outlook views to defaults

Problem

A JAWS user who works with Microsoft Outlook wishes to return the state back to defaults because of navigation problems.

Applies to

  1. JAWS and Outlook (classic)

Resolution

One may decide they need to reset the Microsoft Outlook view settings to default in case of problems working the app.  Pick the set of instructions that are ther easiest to carry out.


Using the keyboard

  1. Press WINDOWS+R to open run command.
  2. Then enter the text below and press ENTER:

    Outlook,exe /cleanviews

  3. Outlook will then launch with the default view set.

Using the mouse

  1. Open Outlook and go to the "View" tab. 
  2. In the "Current View" section, click "Reset View". 
  3. Confirm the reset by selecting "Yes" in the prompt.
