Mind Manager – Crashing behaviour in restricted environment

Problem

A customer typically in an organisation where limited accounts and higher security are used Mind Manager crashes when carrying out basic tasks such as adding a new tag in a project.

Applies to

  1. Mind Manager 

Resolution

The instructions below can only be carried out by an IT Administrator, typically limited user accounts will not be able to access the settings below.
  1. Open the Start menu then search Windows Security and click to open the result.
  2. Then choose App & Browser Control > Exploit Protection Settings.
  3. Then click Program Settings, then click the plus sign and select Exact File Path.
  4. Then navigate to the file:  mindmanager.exe
  5. In the newly appearing menu, disable the system settings under Randomize Memory Allocations.
  6. Then also select Don't Use High Entropy.
  7. Click Apply button and enter your Windows credentials to confirm the changes.
