Microsoft - Reset print spooler to fix printing issues

Problem

You have a printing problem that does nt appear to be the result of print head/ink issues and resetting the print queue has not helped.


Resolution

  1. Right click Start button and choose "Run" in the menu.
  2. Enter the text below and click OK button:
Services.msc
  1. Locate and right click the "Print Spooler" service and choose "Stop" to halt the service. Leave this window open for step 7 below to restart the service.
  2. Then open Windows Explorer and go to: c:\windows\system32\spool\printers
  3. Delete any files contained in that folder.
  4. Then return back to the services window, right click "Spooler" and choose "start" to restart the print spooler again.
