SensePlayer – Creating and using DAISY bookmarks

Problem

A customer using the SensePlayer DAISY app wishes to create a bookmark to save their place in the content.

Resolution

The mark feature provided in the SensePlayer is an imaginary representation of a physical bookmark except that you create or delete them as you like to make finding your place within the DAISY content easier.  Below are instructions cover creating a bookmark hereafter ‘mark’ and then navigating to a mark using two methods.


Setting a mark

  1. During playback of a DAISY work press the hash key (to the right of 0) on the numeric pad bottom row..  The SensePlayer responds by opening the Mark Manager menu.
  2. At the menu option Set A Mark press OK to set the mark selected position within the DAISY content.
 


Note
If no marks have been set the first marked place will be numbered 1 in the system,


Moving to a marked position

It is possible to move sequentially through marked positions directly, or by using the mark manager list.

Method 1 – by mark movement unit

  1. Press UP/DOWN ARROW keys to choose the mark as the movement unit to use.
  2. Then press LEFT/RIGHT ARROW keys to move sequentially through the available marked positions.

Method 2 – Using the mark manager

  1. At any time during playback press the hash key.
  2. Press DOWN ARROW to the menu item Go To Mark, then press OK.
  3. The SensePlayer will then prompt the user to provide the number of a mark to navigate to; enter a number using the numeric keypad, then press OK to begin playback from the marked position.
