Viewplus – Embossing from PDF document
Problem
When attempting to emboss a PDF file using a Viewplus embosser you encounter a problem where the quality of the Braille dots in the output is lower than expected.
Applies to
- Viewplus embossers
Resolution
When embossing directly from an open PDF the embosser will interpret the job as a graphic print. This may lead to quality issues with the Braille dots in the output. To avoid this problem please use Tiger Designer to emboss the PDF file.
- Open Tiger Designer.
- Then drag and drop the PDF into the application window.
- Visually check the document to see how Tiger Designer will handle the document:
- Blue dots = interpreted as text (will provide better text quality)
- Black dots = interpreted as a graphic (will provide poorer quality output)
- Checking the above will help when attempting to diagnose cause of print quality problems with Braille text.
