You cannot see the Tiger add-in menu in Microsoft Word

Problem

When trying to emboss from Microsoft Word the Tiger TSS menu is not showing in the "add-ons" ribbon toolbar of Microsoft Word.

Background

The TSS software uses an add-in to display the TSS menu functinos for the Braille translator. If it becomes corrupt or has been disabled in some way this may no longer be visible. Below are some strategies to troubleshoot this type of issue.

Resolution

8. If Word is open close it and if possible log in as Administrator on the PC.
9. Open Word and then open File > options > Add-ins.
10. Then click "Go" button to shows the COM add-ins.
11. In the list make sure that "VPformattter" is showing and checked.
12. If it is not checked, click to make this add-in activate and click "OK".
13. Close and restart Word and then check for presence of the Tiger in the "Add-ons" ribbon.

If you still have problems it may be necessary to repair Microsoft Office:
1. Right click the start button or press WindowsKey+X to open the shortcut menu and choose “apps and Features.
2. In “Apps and Features” either search for or scroll to “Microsoft Office” entry.
3. Select the item by pressing ENTER if using the keyboard or by clicking it.
4. Then click the “modify” button and await the installation wizard.
5. Follow the instructions through and select either “Quick Repair” or “Online repair. If you are doing this for the first time try a “Quick Repair” first.
6. Complete the installation wizard and restart your computer.
