Notes
Note
  1. This document covers manual installation of product directly onto a target system.
  2. In order to complete installation successfully Administrator login is essential for initial installation and product authorisation and main settings.

Download ZoomText/Fusion installer

Although the smaller online installer is available, we recommend using the larger offline installer.  This will ensure that the installer has all the components necessary to complete the installation.  Whilst the online installer is smaller it requires access to internet during the installer which may fail in a controlled IT environment.

  1. Please log in as Administrator to successfully complete installation of the ZoomText/Fusion product.
  2. Then click to choose the offline product installer for the license already purchased.

  3. Check that the installer version drop down matches the version supported by the software license.  Click to choose an earlier product installer if necessary.

Run product installer

  1. Launch the installer and follow the on screen prompts to complete installation.
  2. When prompted to restart please do so and log in again as Administrator to finish setup.
  3. ZoomText/Fusion will launch automatically and may prompt for certain choices to be made, the most important of which are auto-start up options.  If ZoomText/Fusion does not start automatically launch it from the desktop item to continue.
  4. Once started a prompt may appear to update authorisation, please click Update Authorisation to begin the authorisation process.
  5. On the next screen click to authorise ZoomText/Fusion product manually to avoid problems with firewalls during activation.
  6. Click ZoomText or Fusion menu, then choose Help > About ZoomText/Fusion in the main window.  Check the dialogue shows the correct product serial number, if 801 or another 3 digit code is shown it may indicate authorisation was not successful or is insufficient to support the currently running product version.
  7. Once authorisation is complete you may then be prompted by the Start Up wizard, please refer to JAWS Start Up Wizard screens for reference.
  8. During the start up wizard pay particular attention to any start up options.  Most other options will be for user preference that can be set later without Administrative access.  However, start up cannot be configured without Administrative elevation.
  9. Before handing over the system do a test restart to ensure that the product starts automatically or to the end user's preference for auto start.
