ZoomText – New font smoothing support in 2024 with Microsoft Office
Problem
A customer has a question regarding the newly introduced
xFont smoothing support and compatibility Microsoft office versions.

- Fusion
Resolution
- Freedom Scientific have advised Office Version 2307 (Build 16626.20170) and later are compatible with the new xFont smoothing support provided in ZoomText 2024.2312 and above. If fonts look rough check that the installed Microsoft Office version criteria above or met.
- Customers whose licenses are for earlier versions should upgrade to take advantage of the new xFont support provided in 2024..
- Those customers using Microsoft Office perpetual or volume licenses that are earlier versions than stated above are encouraged where possible to use upgrade to a Microsoft Office 365 version, build 2307 and above for best compatibility.
