JAWS - Access Word or PDF file attachment in Teams chat message

Problem

A JAWS user wishes to access an attachment contained in a Microsoft Teams chat message.

Resolution

Please use the steps below to extract an attachment from a chat message in Teams.

1. In Teams navigate to the chosen channel that contains Word or PDF attachments.
   
2. Then locate the message in the chat that contains attachments, and press ENTER to open the message.
   
3. When pressing ENTER the first time you may not hear any feedback, if tis is the case press ENTER once more and the Like button is Spoken, from here press TAB to work through the message content until you reach the document name that has been attached. 
   
4. Press SHIFT+F10 to open the context menu, then use ARROW keys to select the desired option:
   Select Open In > Open in Desktop App to view file in Microsoft Word.
   Select Download to immediately download a copy to downloads folder.
   Select Copy link to copy only the link for use elsewhere

Notes

One can use the same procedure broadly if the document is a PDF file instead of a Microsoft Word or other document, the options may vary a little to accommodate that format.
