Apple - Problems connecting to IOS devices

Problem

An iPhone or iPad used with one of Sight and Sound products over Bluetooth connection such as BrailleSense 6 encounters a problem with connecting their device to the IOS device. 

Applies to 

  1. iPhone/iPad IOS devices

Resolution

Please try both solutions in turn to resolve Bluetooth connection pairing problems with your device.  When you have tried each of the solutions below please re-attempt connection from your device to the iPhone/iPad.

Method 1 - Cycle Bluetooth radio off and on

  1. Open Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Then swipe to right to reach the Bluetooth toggle button.
  3. Double tap the Bluetooth toggle button to disable the Bluetooth radio.
  4. Wait five seconds then double tap the Bluetooth toggle button to re-enable Bluetooth radio.


Method 2 - Use network reset

The goal of the Network Reset is to purge any corrupted Bluetooth connection data from the phone that mauy be causing cononections to fail.  You will need to reconnect Wi-Fi and any Bluetooth devices afterwards.

  1. Open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Reset
  2. Then tap Network Settings
  3. Respond to prompt to confirm.
  4. provide your phone passcode to proceed.
