BrailleSense 6 – Save email to file

Problem

A BrailleSense 6 user wishes to save an email received within the Email app.

Resolution

The method for saving an email depends on the type of email account type, if you don't know the account type try each to find the method that works best.

Saving message from IMAP or Exchange account

  1. Press space-1 or space-4 to locate the email to be saved, then press "Enter" to open the email.
  2. Press space-M or F2 to open File menu, then select "Save as Text" then "Enter".  Alternatively press "Space-S".  BrailleSense displays "File name: (subject of e-mail being read.txt". 
  3. Press "Enter" to save the message under the current file name. If you wish, you can rename the file using the same method as in the "Save As" dialog of the "Word Processor". 

Save message from POP3 account

  1. Press space-1 or space-4 to focus on message in the list to be saved.
  2. Press space-M or F2 to open File menu, then select "Save as Text" or press "Space-S".  BrailleSense displays "File name: (subject of e-mail being read.txt". 
  3. Press "Enter" to save the message under the current file name. If you wish, you can rename the file using the same method as in the "Save As" dialog of the "Word Processor".
