Canon TR-4650 head clean to improve poor printing results

Problem

Canon TR-4650 output is patchy or not printing at all.

Resolution

The head clean operation may be used to clear ink nozzles, see steps below.

  1. Load a sheet of A4 paper into the printer and then open the operation panel on the printer.
  2. Then activate Settings > Maintenance > Deep cleaning and respond to the confirmation screen.
  3. The printer will then begin cleaning print head.
  4. Then you will be asked to continue with printing nozzle check pattern, respond by pressing Yes.
  5. The nozzle check pattern will be displayed, respond by pressing OK on the screen when the printout is complete.
  6. Please check the nozzle check pattern to see if the problem with the colour is still there.
  7. If there is still a problem turn off the printer and repeat the operation after 24 hours.

If problem still shows after second clean the print head may be damaged.
