JAWS - Check free space of any drive on your computer

Problem

You wish to find out the free space of a drive on a computer.


Resolution

  1. Open Windows Explorer as you normally do and navigate to “This PC” location if necessary and press TAB to reach the list view.
  2. Press control+alt+6 on the number to switch to details list view.
  3. Then use up/down arow to find the drive you wish to find free space of.
  4. Then press right arrow and this will move you through the collumns, keep pressing right arrow until you reach "Free space" column to hear the free space figure.
  5. If you use the up/down arrows you will hear JAWS erport free space for any drive you encounter. If you wish to return to normal announcement press left arrow until you hear the drive name.
