Claro Writing Helper – Product key being rejected signing into online web app

Problem

A customer may have problems using their product key to enter their online Claro Writing Helper app. The product key is being rejected even though it has been verified correct.

Resolution

Before continueing with the steps below verify that:

  • The product key is correct
  • The email address being used is correct
  1. Download and install the old Writing Helper client version here using the link below links appropriate to the computer system being used:

(Windows)
https://download.clarosoftware.com/wh-writinghelper-4-1-0/WritingHelper-4.1.0-auth.exe

(Mac)
https://download.clarosoftware.com/writing-helper-mac-2-1-0/Writing_Helper_2.1.0.pkg

  1. Launch this version, sign-in and activate it with the same key you have been attempting.
  2. Once done, Writing Helper should open to its main screen and they will see a prompt asking them to try the 'New Writing Helper' (referring to the web version).
  3. If they click 'Yes', the web version will open and they can install a local link to it via the icon in the top-right of the browser.
Note

Using the client version and entering the license info should allow the user to skip the sign-in screen they are having that error with. If all steps are followed successfully they should be able to get into the web version obviating the need for the client software which can b
