Dragon - Manual offline activation

Problem

A support technician needs to activate Dragon Naturally Speaking software version 15.0/16.0 within a secure IT environment where automatic internet activation is not possible.

Resolution

A manual method can be used to work with this situation where connection is firewalled or workstation is air-gapped.

  1. Please log in with administrator level credentials.
  2. Launch the Dragon Naturally Speaking software.
  3. Click Activate Now > Activate Manually.
  4. Verify that the Serial Number was entered correctly including entering zeros and not letter O's in the key string.
  5. Go to the following address: http://activation.scansoft.com/us
  6. Enter in the two pieces of information:

    • Serial Number
    • Machine Fingerprint (from activation wizard)
  7. Click the Gennerate Activation Key button.
  8. Copy and paste the activation key string into the first cell on the Activation dialog. If the number is entered in manually, verify the number in its entirety.
  9. Click OK button to activate the product.
