Freedom Scientific - ARM64 architeecture support in JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion
Problem
A customer would like to know if Freedom Scientific products JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion work on ARM64 architecture PCs and laptops.

Resolution
Windows ARM64 is a new process architecture supported by Microsoft for their operating systems from Windows 11 and above. The main advantage of this architecture is the power saving nature of the processor architecture which benefit laptops with greatly increased battery operating time compared to Intel x64. Recently Freedom Scientific BLV products also support this architecture, see below points:
- From version 2023/2024 JAWS provides ARM64 support using a dedicated installer availabel for the ARM 64 architecture.
- From JAWS ZoomText and Fusion version 2025 onwards support the ARM64 architecture via the main installer and automaatically installs the correct support when required.
Features not yet supported
The following features are not currently supported in 2026 and 2026:
- CITRIX Remote
- Convenient OCR from scanner or camera
- Dongle authorisation
- Braille support - limited to Focus Braille displays only
