Global Autocorrect – Activate product license

Problem

A user needs to activate Global Autocorrect with accompanying standalone license or as bundled product with Texthelp Read&Write or ClaroRead product.

Details

  1. Global autocorrect products purchased before 1st February 2024 will need to use their product serial number that came with their Global Autocorrect purchase and activate using method 1 below.
  2. UK DSA customers who purchased Read and Write or ClaroRead products on or after February 1st 2024 have Global Autocorrect bundled as part of those suites.  

Resolution

  1. If you have a Global Autocorrect license key use method 3 below to activate the product directly.  
  2. If you have a Read&Write or ClaroRead installed that is purchased on or after 1st February 2024 and have not activated their product should use method 1 or 2 below appropriate to the software bundle that was purchased. 

Method 1 – Activate using Read & Write DSA license

Use this method if you are a DSA student:
  1. Open Read and Write from the desktop icon.
  2. Sign into an account with a private email address (not school or university).
  3. After signing in go Read&Write settings > Show more settings > About Read&Write then enter your Product Code in the space provided and click Activate button.
  4. If no errors are seen and Global Autocorrect is also installed that license should be activated.

Note
Non DSA customers who are on Read&Write group licenses may need to use their organisation's email address to activate their software.

Method 2 – Activate using ClaroRead DSA license

Customers who purchased a qualifying ClaroRead DSA license may also use the license to activate Global Autocorrect as well.
  1. With a browser go to:  www.clarosoftware.com/login and sign in with a personal email account.
  2. After signing in click on My License Keys, then enter your ClaroRead serial number.
  3. Then click Windows or Apple Mac links in your account page to access the installer as appropriate to your computer operating system.
  4. After downloading the installer, run it and follow the on screen instructions.
  5. Click to agree with license terms and then click Next.
  6. On the next screen you will be prompted for the license serial number, please enter it and click Next button.
  7. When prompted for type of installation click Complete button.
  8. On the next screen click Install button to proceed.


Method 3 - Activate Standalone license

This option should be used where you have a standalone license and don't hold one of the qualifying Read&Write or ClaroRead licenses.
  1. Open Global autocorrect by double clicking its desktop icon.
  2. When a pop-up appears respond by clicking the Validate button.
  3. If a user account control pop-up appears click Yes button to proceed.
  4. At the edit prompt for serial number enter the license serial number and click the Enter button.
