HP Deskjet 4130/e – Clear paper jam (Error E4)


Problem

A customer with HP Deskjet 4130 or 4130e has a paper jam.

 

Resolution 

1.    Remove paper sheets still in the input tray.

2.    Press Cancel to see if the error goes away.

3.    if paper jam E4 code is still shown and paper is still jammed in the input tray gently pull it out. To avoid paper tear hold paper with two hands eithe side.

4.    Remove any remaining paper debris from paper tray.

5.    When paper tray clear of paper debris load new paper taking care to fan throughthe paper to allow air in between the sheets to avoid further jams.

6.    Then press Resume button to continue printing.

7.    If E4 error continues this may indicate a paper jam in another part of the printer.  Please look for potential paper jam in these areas:

Check for paper jam on the bottom panel.
Check for paper jam near the ink tanks by opening the cartridge access door.
Locate paper debris in the output tray.
Locate paper debris in the document feeder if present.

8.    After clearing paper debris run through the paper roller clean in HP Smart app to fix the problem.
