Index – Update V3 Basic embosser firmware


Problem

A customer with an Index Basic V3 embosser needs to update the embosser firmware.


Resolution

Please download the following from Index Braille website:  

  1. Embosser Utility V5
  2. V3 Embosser Firmware

 

  1. Power on the embosser so that it is online. 
  2. Run the installer for Embosser Utility v5, then at the end of the setup leave Launch Embosser Utility checkbox checked and click Next.
  3. Then choose File > Open > From Local file.
  4. Locate the embosser firmware download then click Open.
  5. Then in the main window click Upgrade Embosser button.
  6. Then wait approximately 5 minutes for the embosser to stop beeping and restart with the new firmware which should be announced when it restarts.
