JAWS - New hotkey for detecting windows state

A JAWS user would like to know the windows state of an open application.

  1. In JAWS 2024 September update a new feature has been added to the window title keystroke JAWSKey+T.  When the keystroke JAWSKey+T is pressed twice within a second, on the second press JAWS will announce whether the window is maximised or restored (the latter means that the application is running as a window).

Application

The above may be useful when JAWS is not reading correctly within the application because the window size is too small to properly display all the relevant information of a focused area.  Using the JAWSKey+T twice hotkey allows the user to know this and correct the problem by maximising the window with ALT+SPACEBAR and choose Maximise then press ENTER.
