JAWS - Spell out an email sender's name

Problem

When using the Outlook classic email client you wish to spell out the name of an email contact from yoru inbox.

Applies to

  1. JAWS and Outlook classic

Resolution

The instructions below assume that you have recieved a message in Outlook classic for a contact in your inbox or other folders you wish JAWS to spell out their name/email address:

  1. In the Outlook message list view navigate to the email you wish to investigate, then press ENTER to open the message.
  2. With the message open Hold down ALT and press 1 twice within a second.
  3. Then press CONTROL+SHIFT+LEFT ARROW, this will highlight the contact name.
  4. Then press JAWSKey+Number 5 twice within a second to have it spell out the contact and email address.
  5. Then take action eg. reply to the message as you wish.
