JAWS - Unblock Google Chrome download

Problem

A JAWS user needs to unblock a recent download blocked by Google Chrome browser.

Resolution

Certain types of downloads may be blocked by Google Chrome browser when they are considered to be potentially risky or unusual.  The steps below will allow a user to unblock the download.  However, before unblocking a downloa one should be aware the specific purpose of the download or to be completely assured it is not malicious.  


Notes
Note
The instructionos below assume that the problem download was the most recent download in the browser.  If you press H repeatedly you may be able to access earlier blocked downloads.

  1. After the file has been blocked press CONTROL+J to open the list of downloads.
  2. Press letter H until you get to Today heading.
  3. Then press TAB to reach More Options button then press SPACEBAR.
  4. The file is then downloaded.
  5. Tab to Show In Folder, then press SPAACEBAR to open the folder to which the download has been sent to carry out any other actions on the download.
