JAWS - View system tray icons and access applications
Problem
A customer has a number of applications running on their computer that are not immediately available because they are running form the Windows System Tray.
Applies to
- JAWS
Resolution
- When a background application or utility is running it may present itself to the user by means of an icon inside the Windows system tray.
- To access the system tray and any applications that may be running there press JAWSKey+F11. JAWS will then post up a new dialogue and buttons for various actions for manipulating them.
- Use TAB key to switch between the available controls; application list, left click, right single click etc and press SPACEBAR on the button that represents the action you wish to simulate. Upon using one of those actions the application may respond by posting menu or an application window where further adjustments may be made.
