Microsoft – Adjust Outlook email font options

A customer needs to customise the display fonts used when drafting email in Microsoft Outlook.

a frequently requested adjustment is for the font used whilst editing emails to be made more readable by a visually impaired user. The steps below will allow users of Outlook (Classic) to make the necessary modification.
Resolution
Please start by determining he required font modification by opening a new Outlook email message. Then whilst in the body of the email experiment by entering some text and changing the font and size characteristics until the choice is satisfactory.

Tip
If you do not require any text formatting in messages sent to your recipients you can choose to send them as Plain Text by default so that your recipient does not see the font the message is composed in. Please select File > Options > Mail > Compose Message, then set to Plain Text.
Using a mouse
- Click File > Options > Mail.
- Then activate the Stationary and Fonts button.
- Then activate Font button for New Mail Messages.
- In the dialogue make the font name, style and size modifications required.
- Then click OK to save changes.
- Activate the Font button under Replies and Forwarding messages section.
- Do likewise for the Replies and Forwarding Messages.
- Then click OK.
- Then click OK in the main dialogue to finish making changes.
Using a keyboard
- Press ALT+F to open File menu.
- Then press letter T to jump to Options and press ENTER.
- In the dialogue press down arrow to select Mail option in the list.
- Then press TAB to reach the button Stationary and Fonts then press SPACEBAR on it.
- Press TAB key to reach the first Font button under New Mail Messages.
- Then press SPACEBAR on the Font button.
- In the resulting dialogue window press UP/DOWN ARROW Keys to select the desired font then press TAB.
- In the Font Style list choose the required font style then press TAB.
- At the Size list use UP/DOWN ARROW KEYs to choose the desired font size.
- Then press TAB to reach the OK button then press SPACEBAR.
- Then press TAB to reach the OK button in the main options dialogue, then press SPACEBAR.
