Mountbatten – Set up for use with MBComm accessory

Problem

You need to connect a Mountbatten device to MB-COM.

Resolution

MBComm is a Mountbatten accessory designed to facilitate communicate between a Mountbatten and Windows computer for file transfer etc.


Requirements

  1. MBComm software and USB driver CD (Windows)
  2. A free USB port.

Steps for connecting Mountbatten and MBComm

When using MBComm please carry out these steps:

  1. Power off Mountbatten unit.
  2. Load a sheet of paper into the Mountbatten unit.
  3. Connect the USB cable between MBComm and Mountbatten unit.
  4. Power on Mountbatten, it should speak the phrase “USB connected”.
  5. Open the MBComm application.
  6. Then open the Device menu and select Connect Mountbatten.
  7. Then selec the appropriate COM port to use for communication with Mountbatten. The port chosen should show “Mountbatten USB” next to it.
