Texthelp - Offline activation for Read & Write

Problem

You need to activate Read and Write installed on an offline computer that doesn’t have an internet connection.


Applies to

• Read & Write (version 12.0.71 and above)


Requirements

• Installed copy or Read and Write (offline computer)
• Another computer with internet connection to generate the activation credentials
• A USB stick to transfer the information


Resolution

  1. Open Read&Write on your computer and then click the “More” three dot button and select “Offline Activation"

2. On the next screen copy the displayed link into a text file you can save on a USB stick for later.
3. Open the text file saved earlier and copy/paste the link into a browser on that machine.
4. On the page opened enter the details for this license and click on Generate.
5. Click “Generate” button and select a location to save the file eg usb stifck.
6. Then return to the offline PC in Read and Write and click “more” button then “import license”.
7. Then browse the USB stick for the license zip file that was created on the online computer. Do not attempt to extract from the ZIP file first.
