Openbook – Set a custom documents folder

Problem

An Openbook user would like to set a custom location for their Openbook documents folder.

Resolution

Using the steps below you can change the default document folder to save Openbook documents into.  Once modified all new documents will be saved to the new location.


  1. In Openbook press ALT+G to open the "Settings" menu then press DOWN ARROW to locae General Settings then press ENTER.
  2. Press TAB to reach the Browse button just after the default file location edit box within the dialogue,  and press SPACEBAR to activate it.
  3. Press ALT+I to open the Look In drop down then press ALT+DOWN ARROW to open it. Press UP/DOWN ARROW keys to locate the drive letter onto which you wish to save your documents and press TAB to reach the file list.
  4. Then use normal navigation to locate the folder you wish to use to save Openbook documents into, for example Documents.  When you find that folder press ENTER on it.
  5. Then press TAB to reach OK button, then press SPACEBAR on it.In the main dialogue press TAB until you reach the "OK" button and press SPACEBAR again.
  6. Then press ALT+G to open Settings menu, then press ENTER on "Save Settings" menu entry.
  7. At the file name edit box press TAB to reach Save button, then press SPACEBAR ro save changes to the default file.
  8. When asked to confirm press TAB to reach Yes button and press SPACEBAR to confirm overwrite of settings file.
