JAWS - Silence distracting auto-correct sounds (Outlook/Word)
Problem
A customer when enters text in Microsoft Office Word or Outlook that matches an auto-correct entry and find the sound distracting.
Note
This document covers silencing of the auto-correct event, not auto-correct itself.
Resolution
- Press JAWSKey+V to open Quick Settings.
- Then type the word “Auto” without quotes.
- Then arrow down to “Autocorrect detection” and press spacebar to toggle the checkbox off.
- Then press ENTER to confirm the setting.
