JAWS - Silence distracting auto-correct sounds (Outlook/Word)

Problem

A customer when enters text in Microsoft Office Word or Outlook that matches an auto-correct entry and find the sound distracting.



Note
This document covers silencing of the auto-correct event, not auto-correct itself.

Resolution

  1. Press JAWSKey+V to open Quick Settings.
  2. Then type the word “Auto” without quotes.
  3. Then arrow down to “Autocorrect detection” and press spacebar to toggle the checkbox off.
  4. Then press ENTER to confirm the setting.
