U2 – Error "invalid account information" posted when access email

Problem

A U2 user is greeted with an error informing them that account information is invalid when attempting to download email.

Resolution

When using the Mail app on U2 during the attempt to download email the error "invalid account information" is posted and the customer is unable to access email.


  1. Google changed their security regime such that it is now impossible to access Gmail accounts with the U2. This problem affected both Polaris and BrailleSense 6 notetakers but was fixed with an update. However since development of the U2 had already ceased these units remain unabel to access Gmail accounts.
  2. Customers are advised to use an updated notetaker (currently BrailleSense 6 range.)
