Unable to enter text properly in Duxbury Braille Translator

Problem

A user reports when typing into Duxbury the input is scrambled, for example if they press letter F a letter A appears in its place.

Resolution

This behaviour will occur when six-dot entry mode is enabled in the View menu. To resolve this do one of the following:

• Click View > Six-key entry option that is checked to uncheck in the menu.
• Press F2 to toggle off six-key entry.

Six-key entry explained

The six-key entry is a mode that turns part of the keyboard into the Perkins style keyboard for those users most familiar with Braille entry rather than QWERTY keyboard. In six dot mode the letters F,D,S are mapped to the dots 1-2-3 on the left side and J-K-L are mapped to dots 4-5-6 of the Perkins layout. By using chorded combinations of these keys Braille letter signs and contractions can be entered as they would on a traditional Perkins Brailler.
