Viewplus – SpotDot housing open error (internal)
Problem
A customer has a SpotDot embosser that produces a housing
open warning when the housing is closed.
Resolution
This problem may occur when either the housing is open or
if lid is not lifting properly.
Please check the following:
- Check if the plastic block on the side of the lid has broken
off.
- Check if the lever that it pushes down on is broken or
bent.
Note
Although it is likely the embosser requires a repair it may be possible to temporarily resolve the problem the sensor using a
folded piece of paper (refer to illustration below).
