ZoomText - December 2025 update installation error message

Problem

When a user accepts an update prompt for ZoomText 2025 December update they may experience an error during or shortly after install of the update. 

Applies to

  1. ZoomText

Resolution

An error may appear during installation or shortly afterwards only if ZoomText 2025.2410.58 is currently running during install.  The errors relate to Microsoft .NET 8 framework and may include any of the following:

  • A ZoomText error message that briefly appears and disappears after confirming a computer restart.
  • A notification indicating ZoomText crashed when starting after the update.
If either of these appear no action is required from the user and the errors should not appear again.
