JAWS is not authorised but is showing serial number 799
Problem
JAWS starts but immediately posts dialogue to authorise even though when looking in "About JAWS" a serial number of 799 is licensed.
Resolution
This situation may occur in a networked environment whilst the product is awaiting authorization with an ILM key.
- Open Start menu and search "Control panel" and then choose "System".
- Then click the "Environment variable" button.
- Look in the lower of the two lists ie. System Environment variables.
- Find the line showing "LSFORCEHOST" and then click "Delete" button.
- The environment variable will be deleted instantly and you can now retry activation.
Serial number 799 indicates the product is running on a grace period whilst authorization has yet to be found.
