PIAF – Guidance on using Zychem swell paper to make tactile documents

Problem

A PIAF user requires guidance on creating tactile images on swell paper for use with the PIAF machine.

Resolution

Please see the recommendations below.

  1. Printed images must be in black ink to be made tactile.  Colour does not normally work.
  2. You can either use a inkjet printer or photocopier with the paper, be careful to make sure that the correct side of the media is used.
  3. After printing avoid touching the paper and allow to dry for at least 10 minutes before handling and putting through PIAF machine.
