Fusion - Repair installation

Problem

If FUSION is malfunctioning and not working as expect a repair operation carried out on the installation may possibly resolve the issue.


Resolution


IMPORTANT!
Please take care to download only the correct version of the installer that marches the currently installed Fusion copy.

  3. Fusion - offline installers for secure environments (Use the drop down box to select required offline Fusion installer download)

Using the keyboard

  1. Using the above links download the appropriate FUSION installer with which to conduct the repair. Locate the downloaded FUSION package you need to install with.
  2. Then press CONTROL+SHIFT+F10 to open the context menu.
  3. Then down arrow to "copy as path" and press ENTER.
  4. Then press WINDOWS+R to open the "Run" command.
  5. Then press CONTROL+V to paste the path to your download.
  6. Now type a space and a forward slash and add the word "type" and "repair" with a space between as per example where the "PackageName.exe" is the filename of your FUSION download.:

FUSIONPackageName.exe /type repair

  1. Press ENTER to begin the repair. Follow the instructions until completion and restart your computer when asked.

Using the mouse

  1. Using the above links click to download the required installer.
  2. Click to open the folder the installer has been downloaded to.
  3. Then hold SHIFT key and right-click the installer to get the context menu.
  4. Then click to choose Copy As Path.
  5. Then right click Start button, then click Run.
  6. Right click the edit field and choose Paste in the context menu.
  7. Then move cursor to the end of the pasted path, add a single space then add the following text: /type repair, and click OK button.  The command should look similar to the one below:

    FUSIONPackageName.exe /type repair

  8. Then follow the instructions to run the repair operation, restart the computer when prompted.
